A New Pipe Inside the Existing Pipe

The Right Technology for Every Application

Motivo restores deteriorated buried piping by installing a new structural or pressure-carrying pipe within the existing line. No other contractor in the industrial market offers a broader range of lining technologies. That breadth allows us to select the right solution for each pipe’s service, geometry, operating conditions and repair needs, instead of simply offering the product a contractor happens to sell.

UV-CIPP

UV Cured in Place Pipe is designed for long, straight gravity lines. It uses a fiberglass liner impregnated with chemically resistant resin to create a new structural pipe inside the existing line.

The liner is pulled into the prepared pipe, inflated and inspected before a ultraviolet light train travels through the liner to cure it. 

UV-CIPP is used in gravity piping from 6 to 64 inches in diameter and can be installed in runs up to 1,000 feet. After curing, service connections can be reinstated from either side of the liner.

For oily water sewer applications, Motivo uses fiberglass CIPP with chemically resistant resin and applies an additional layer of spin-spray epoxy over the new liner. This provides added protection against hydrocarbons, chemicals and process waste.

Blue Light CIPP

Similar to UV-CIPP, Blue Light CIPP creates a new structural fiberglass pipe inside the existing line. Its smaller, more flexible installation and curing equipment makes it better suited for smaller gravity lines with bends or changes in diameter.

Blue Light CIPP is used in piping from 3 to 18 inches in diameter and in runs up to 300 feet. It can accommodate bends and diameter changes of up to 3 inches, and service connections can be reinstated after curing.

For oily water sewer applications, Motivo applies the same spin-spray epoxy topcoat used with UV-CIPP.

FFRP

Flexible Fabric Reinforced Pipe (FFRP) creates a new pressure-carrying pipe inside the existing pipeline. A factory-manufactured flexible reinforced liner is pulled through the host pipe and mechanically terminated, allowing it to contain pressure independently of the deteriorated original pipe.

Because FFRP does not require field curing, it can be installed efficiently over long distances. It is particularly well suited for firewater, cooling water, raw water, process water and other pressure pipeline systems.

FFRP can be installed in piping from 2 to 64 inches in diameter and in runs up to 8,200 feet. It can navigate multiple bends up to 45 degrees, and service connections are reinstated as part of the installation.

SIPP

Spray in Place Pipe (SIPP) uses a precision spray head to apply high-build epoxy at a controlled thickness inside the prepared pipeline, creating a new self-supporting pipe within the existing line.

Unlike a thin coating that depends entirely on adhesion to the original surface, SIPP develops its own strength. The spray-applied liner does not block branch openings, so service connections do not need to be reinstated after installation.

SIPP can be used in gravity or pressure piping from 4 to 60 inches in diameter and in runs up to 1,100 feet. It can accommodate 45-degree bends but cannot pass through 90-degree elbows. 

Point Repair

Point repairs target isolated defects and short damaged sections by placing a localized repair directly over the problem area. Fiberglass and mechanical Quick-Lock repairs can address cracks, open joints, punctures and other individual defects.

The repair functions much like a stent inside the pipe, restoring integrity at the damaged area while leaving the surrounding pipe undisturbed.

Point repairs can be used in gravity or pressure piping 2 inches in diameter and larger, including lines with bends. They may be pulled or blown into position.

Hand Spray Epoxy

Hand-applied epoxy is used to rehabilitate manholes, vaults, catch basins and other accessible gravity structures connected to the piping system.

After the structure is cleaned and prepared, epoxy is applied to seal defects, restore the internal surface and protect it from continued exposure. Hand spray epoxy can be applied at thicknesses up to one-half inch.
